I hate this school that I am in! Everything is retarted! For example we have something called "homeroom in the gym". When the teachers see just one student doing something bad (and they see who that student is) the whole school gets brought back after school. We are supposed to be dismissed at 2:00 and we always get dismissed like at 2:15. This school sucks and is disorganized! My mother always says that all schools are like this! She doesn't know that my school is called the "Ghetto school of Elizabeth, New Jersey". HELP!

Why does you mother send you there? Find answers to her reasons. Which schools do you want to attend and why? Calling a school retarded is not a good enough reason. Every school has rules that you will not like, focus on academics and opportunities. Telling your mom the school is strict isnt going to make her think less of it.

The most important thing to me when my daughters were your age was the quality of their education. I even drove two of my daughters to two different schools in their high school years to make sure they could get the best education there was available to them. That being said, what I would do if I were you is to investigate the numbers of the school you are attending. What is their ratio of graduating students compare to dropouts. What is their ratio of graduating students going off to college. Then what are the number of students that get academic scholarships from your school? But don't make that your only information. Also investigate other schools and get the same numbers on them.

You also need to answer the question of transportation to and from school. There are a lot of questions that will need to be answered. You need to research the area schools and be totally honest with your mom. If you are not, the numbers are too easy to get and then your mom will not trust you. Go in with every answer that you think she may need and maybe she will see things your way.

insead of saying how your school is bad, find a school you really want to go to. find out from the school district exactly how to transfer and get the forms. make sure you know how you will cover transportation. then explain to your mom why you want to go to this fabulous school and how the curriculum will allow you to pursue your career plans and get a scholarship for college.
do research before you talk to her. explain the classes you want to take at the new school and why. talk from what you do want, not what you don't like about your old school.

Well, I can see why your mother wants you there.

Rather than fight the entire system, perhaps you should learn how to spell and write. Perhaps then- when you show some progress- you can PERSUADE your mother to transfer you to another school.

I am sure that the extra 15 minutes you say they keep you is going to be the end of your social life, eh?
