Have to agree Yak the Icon, Edinburgh is a really fantastic place to be on new years eve, we were there last year, amazing atmosphere and wonderful people.

There is no place better than being at my warm home on New Year's Eve, relaxing in my favorite leather LazyBoy chair, sipping on a warm brandy, watching Dick Clark's Rock n' Roll New Years Eve special on the boob tube, and watching all the fools freezing their buttocks off in the freezing sleet and snow of New York City!
