I found this on Yahoo! Answers earlier and it works on my wife's new 30Gbyte Ipod video... Give it a try.

Start with the iPod disconnected from the computer. DON'T CONNECT IPOD YET.

Open iTunes.

Open iTunes Preferences - this blocks iTunes from seeing an iPod connection; leave the preferences window up and running.

Connect the iPod to the computer, wait about 15 seconds before continuing.

Open 'My Computer'.

Tools menu, Folder Options, View tab, enable 'show hidden files /folders'.

Open iPod icon in My Computer.

Open iPod_Control folder.

You should see a folder named Music.

Drag this folder to somewhere on your computer hard drive.

After the copy completes, right-click the new Music folder on your hard drive and Select 'Properties'.

Clear the checkmark next to 'Hidden'.

Close that explorer window.

Eject iPod from System tray using the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon. This icon looks like a small gray rectangle with a green arrow floating above it. Right-click & select 'Safely remove' then click 'Stop' in the next window, ‘OK’ in the next window, and then Close to complete the ejection.

Disconnect the iPod from the computer.

Go back to iTunes, cancel the preferences window.

Then go... File menu \ Add folder to Library \ find that Music folder copied over from the iPod. Click add and it will then move all the copied music into your library. You can then delete the copied 'Music Folder'.

Your iTunes library should be back in action!

Actually it should not do that. As I understand it all you need is to have the Itune software on either computer from which you are trying to play it. I do that all the time. I have it on my Desktop and on my Laptop. If you do not get it than go to

www.apple.com and ask technical support for help. Good luck. You can even run multiple Ipods on the same Itune software. I do it all the time

Itunes songs should allow you to download to 5 other pc's or ipods. Itunes do encript their files to only play in itunes or on ipods but if you do a yahoo answers search for 'If I purchase a song using Itunes, can I convert that file to MP3, or is only playable on Itunes or an IPOD' it will tell you how to convert it to a normal mp3 to play on any mp3 player.

If that isn't what you are asking then I use ipod rip to take all my songs off my ipod ad put it on my mac or pc, then I do what I said above to save it as a simple mp3. Get it here: http://www.thelittleappfactory.com/application.php?app=iPodRip

Hope that helped.
