I'm sick of seeing commercials every day every 5 minutes about smoking is bad and this and that. If i wanna smoke its my choice and i dont need commercials on every 5 seconds telling me the same thing all the time. And why exactly are there no commercials against alcohol? Isnt that bad for your health too and doesnt it cause all these deaths from drunk driving? And yet they never say anything about alcohol and they always attack cigarettes. They have commercials promoting alcohol showing people drinking and being all happy and everything and then show all these dramatic commercials about cigarettes being bad for your body. Why is that? Why are they so obsessed with cigarettes and say nothing about alcohol?

How about answering the question iknowtrusthismine? You must be the ones making those commercials to say that

Two reasons:
1. The alcohol manufacturers never collaborated to hide evidence on the dangers of alcohol. They were always open and honest about how dangerous it CAN be.
2. The alcohol manufacturers have better lobbyists.

Smoking kills you slowly and can make those around you sick as well. Alcohol does not usually directly kill you, though it does often kill others. IE drunk drivers. I think the problem is that the tobacco companies spend so much money advertising and trying to convince people that the bad claims are false. Alcohol is not over advertised and there is no denial by the sellers as to the effects of alcohol. I would also have to say there is much more animosity between smokers and no smokers than there is between drinkers and non drinkers.

That is a very good question. Tobacco is politically incorrect, but alcohol is not.

I personally don't have any use for either one, but there seems to be some inconsistency here. Does anyone think that alcohol has any redeeming social value?

You sound just like a typical nicotine addict. I don't want to hear it. Smoking is the most dumbass thing you can do to yourself and those around you short of strapping a bomb to yourself and Mussing out.
