I was just curious to know what would happen if a school bus was stopped for loading/unloading and an ambulance with a true emergency were to come barreling through if the ambulance would get a ticket for not yielding to the school bus stop sign?

As someone who drives ambulances, I can tell you that the ambulance must stop if the school bus has its red lights on. In any case, the stop is only for a very short amount of time and the bus driver usually realizes and turns off their lights as soon as possible.

I can't speak for all ambulance services but as a rule I think that the protocols of my employer would be fairly common:
Paramedics (and other emergency service workers) are required to drive with due care and attention *at all times* - no less so when responding lights and sirens.
It's about getting there safely - not just as quick as you can.
Generally we are exempt from the road rules when responding to an emergency, but *only* if due care and attention is paid.
In the case you mentioned, I would expect the ambulance (or police /fire) to slow down and exercise due caution near the bus.
I could not see an ambulance officer being charged for failing to yield if they drove with due care and attention and in a reasonable manner. Who wants a delayed response to a life threatening emergency?

No ticket, the ambulance would have to slow, and proceed with caution just as if they were moving through an intersection. The Ambulance has the right of way only with it is safe to take it.

A school bus always has the right of way when loading and unloading kids.

Read your state's motor vehicle laws. You'll find emergency vehicles have priority over anything else on the road.
