Wow at twenty I didn't care if I was on my own or not. But good for you, your willing to take the chance. Are there any hobbies your good at that you could turn into a business for yourself? I have a friend that for I know 5 years I said he should be in pc repair. He did it finally and works from home, trust me he big $$ doing it. Started small and grew and he never advertised, it was all word of mouth. Now all he does it businesses. Only reason I can see that people would want to work for the government is the benefits. Not really sure what is in your area. Is there a big contractor in your area. Normally they pay well. Get your CDL, drive a semi or a dump truck.

Its not a job, however, how about a rent to own home. Its a good way to start if the conventional way won't work for you. Or try Real Estate, if you could save up enough to be able to hang on until you start selling homes, then you would have the inside on homes you may want, you'll know the loan officers and the money is usually good in RE. I have a home business that makes good money, although you would have to do it for 2 yrs to be able to use the credit, but the money is good and you could always work at a regular job also untill that time comes. Just a thought.

Start small and simple and get on your feet financially. Work on Front End (Cashier, Bagging, etc) in a grocery store. Even though it seems like a stupid job, I know many people who are over 28 years old who work as cashiers at my local grocery store. Even if you don't want to work in a grocery store, find some store that interests you and put in an application. Once you get on your feet finacially, you can do pretty much anything you want. Find something that you have fun doing and if you have to, create your own career! Start up a specialized store, do whatever you want! I can't tell you want jobs would set you free because I don't know what you like.
My advice in a nutshell: Get on your feet first and then find something that you really enjoy and create your own career from there! Enjoy your life!

Start your own business. We have a 21 year old who just made over $100,000 this year and another one who is about to hit the $100,000. Right now is the time to get into the business. It will give you time freedom and financial freedom. Why not look at it at least?

if i told you "you should be a brain surgeon" or "you should be a sanitation worker", would you do it just because i suggested you do it? Of course not.
know who you are and what you like to do and then you will know what career you want to choose.
