Mainly make sure you are eating healthy. Eat lots of fruits and veggies!! Make sure you cook your meat very well and your eggs very well! Try to stay away from junk food but it's not gonna hurt to have a little. Stay away from bottom dwelling seafood....like crab, lobster, and shrimp....and there are certain types of fish that you need to stay away from as well....these all may contain mercury. But you need to eat often and eat good.....look to the food pyramid....it's hard to eat all that food that is recommended but I am trying my best to eat something from each food group in a day....along with my prenatal vitamins! And I also heard that too much of some things or vitamins can cause birth defects...the only one that comes to mind right now is Vitamin A. Prenatal vitamins do contain vit A but not enough to do anything harmful....but it's best not to take any Vitamin A supplements. It's hard to stay away from the fast food when it's EVERYWHERE and especially since my fiance loves it all....so when we go to McDonalds or something I get a salad or a fruit and yogurt parfait....a lot of places have at least something healthy!! But it's best to stay away from greasy foods or anything fried.
Here's something that I found....recommended # of daily food group servings:
Grains-7 to 11
Veggies-4 to 5
Fruits-3 to 4
Dairy3 to 4
Meat/Meat alternatives-3
Hope this helps!!

You can eat everything but in little amounts. But what doctors say that it is better if you eat more fruits and vegetables most of the time. They also say that you should eat less from the junk food for example candies, burritos, pizza, hambergers. The doctors also say that it is better to eat less salt, sugat, and oil. What they mean to put less of that on the food you are cooking but you can eat everything you just have to make sure not to eat a lot of everything.

Most foods are ok, but you should refrain from eating more than one can of tuna in a week(because of mercury content) the same thing is said for swordfish and sushi.
You should also refrain from deli meats, and soft cheeses usually bought at the deli, like Gouda and others, because they harbor bacteria.
New research also suggests refraining from eating too much peanut butter, because they believe doing so during pregnancy can cause your child to have peanut allergies later in life.

you may eat exactly what you like and what your stomach will tolerate. It is best for you not to overdo it and eat to much. Keep an eye out on the foods that normally give you gas and try to stay away from those. Be mindful of foods that are acidic oranges, tomatoes, lemons, spaghetti, lasagna, pizza, chili, No greasy stuff it will make you hang over toilet. Keep Kleenex, peppermint, crackers in your purse.

You can eat almost everything and what you should stay away from has already been listed. Just remember that you aren't eating for two you only need an extra 300 calories a day for your baby and I recomend that you don't overdue it. You'll have less baby weight to deal with later and you'll feel better throughout your pregnancy.

Well number one stay away from alcohol of any kind and consult your doctor about any medications or even vitamins (any kind of herbal remedies) you might be taking for anything. You never know how these (even if they are "all-natural") could affect the fetus.
Stay away from caffeine as well and excess sugar and fat and cut down on the processed foods as much as possible.
The best is to eat lots of fruit and vegetables, lean protein, low fat dairy products and watch your carbs. Everything you put in your mouth & body affects the baby.

You can eat whatever you like, so long as it doesn't make you feel ill. Just try to maintain a balanced diet, and don't pig out on junk food.
