I have discovered in my father's possessions a Brazilian cruzeiros 10000 and I was just wondering what it was worth. The only info I can find out about it is that this particular bill is obsolete but I was told it was still worth something. According to the currency exchange current exchange rates would be $4,672.24.

There are several different 10000 cruziero notes -
The 1965 issue (Santos Dumont portrait) is in the standard catalog as P-182B. Collector value is from $2 to a few hundred, depending on variety and condition. If it is overprinted 10 Cruzieros Novos, catalog number is P-189 or P-190 (different printers), and value is considerably less.
The 1984 issue (Rui Barbosa portrait) is rather common and catalogs for 25 cents to $10, depnding on signatue and condition. If overprinted 10 Cruzados, collector value is $1 or less.
The 1991 issue (V. Brazil portrait) is also very common.
I case you're wondering, face value is zero.
1000 cruzieros (1965) = 1 cruziero novo
1000 cruzieros novo (1986) = 1 cruzado
1000 cruzados (1989) = 1 cruzado novo
1 cruzado novo (1990) = 1 cruziero
1000 cruzieros (1993) = 1 cruziero real
2750 cruzieros real = 1 Real (still current , about US $0.42)

The Brazilian currency has been revalued many times. It depends upon exactly when the bank note was issued (see the issue date printed on it somewhere). The odds are good that the currently has been revalued by more than 100,000 to 1 over the years (maybe as much as 1,000,000 to 1, as happened with the Turkish Lira in 2005).
