Its been approved by everyone above me, but it doesnt jive with me. Im only making an issue of it because its down right sketchy in my books. My problem is if I dont go along with this its likely going to hamper my long term chances at upgrades and advances...so my question...Do I bite the bullet and go against my own personal feelings on a matter as it could affect my income as a result if i dont?

If you are opposed to it then you should not do it. It's a decision that you and you alone will have to live with for the rest of your life.

It depends on what the issue is, and the ramifications inside and outside of the company if it is indeed "sketchy."

You may feel like you need to play the game in order to advance in this particular corporation, but the question is (and it's not to be answered now, but as you think deeper about this), where do you see yourself in 2 years in this corporation? Could you get to that level in another place? Is there something that draws you to the place you work at now?

I quit teaching because I did not (and still do not) agree with high-stakes testing -- using one test score to determine if a student will go on to the next grade level or graduate. Ohio started this years before No Child Left Behind. I became a technical writer instead. I say, don't compromise yourself.... but, before you make your final decision make sure that you have a end-game.

If you are being asked to break the law--don't do it. If it's a personal issue like going against your religion or something like that, then speak candidly with your superior and resolve the issue. You will look better standing up about an issue you believe in than licking the hand that feeds you. Then again that may be better than licking the boot that kicks you.

It depends on what it is you're being asked to go along with. You say, "it's downright sketchy in my books..." By sketchy do you mean illegal, or unethical? In the absence of additional details, I'm at a disadvantage here in giving you my opinion, so I'll just say, you have to live with yourself. Can you do that if you "bite the bullet?"

why would you want to work for a company where you have to go against your personal feelings? the real question is= can i live with myself if i go along with my "higher ups" or can i stand before god and say "i did the right thing"
good luck to you !!

If what they are asking you to do is so bad in your mind that you could not tell us what it is then I would say that you should not do it and start looking for a new job

I think you need to decide if any extra money is worth compromising your morals, and if the action is really that bad it might be time to leave the company.

It depends what the issue is, and what your company policy is. If it is something that could jeopardize your safety, don't go for it. If it is something like random drug testing, go for it.

Don't go against your beliefs, if they won't you to do something your not comfortable with, then maybe its not the job for you. If you do it this time, what will it be next?

Can you ask this question in English too? Most of us don't speak French...
