It depends on a few things. For example, how rigorous was the courseload? How many Honors and AP courses are reflected in the GPA? Is the GPA weighted for honors classes, or not?

The GPA is just one aspect, albeit an important one. SATs, extracurriculars, sports, music, community service, letters of recommendation, etc. are all important as well.

Keep up the good work and consider applying yourself to your studies even more...

If you are in Canada then it is a good GPA. It all depends on your personal experience when it comes to a certain program that you are interested in. The college will look at your relevant experience before they worry about your GPA.

It's a pretty good GPA, but it really depends on what colleges you are applying to. For example, Princeton might not accept you unless you have other good things that balance it out.

Also, for good colleges, you must do well on the SAT/ACT and have had a strong academic record from past. Good luck!

Not bad but it can be improved upon if you do extra credit work and show your teachers you are striving to improve.

A 3.0 is a B average Very good
3.5 would be a B+ or I think an A- would start at 3.6 (but I am guessing)

You should be proud of yourself but consider trying a little harder if you wish to up your GPA.

3.4 out of what? Some use a 9 point system, some use 4.0, some use 4.5. If it's 3.4/4.0, then that's good - anything else, it's about average.

I had a 3.2 but high SAT's and got in to some good schools. They will look at the complete package- clubs, involvement, references, etc. If you are in a position to study and keep retaking your SAT's --that would be the best way to increase our chances of getting in somewhere good. Good luck!

you should aim for a 3.5 or higher, but you will probably still get accepted into a good college.
***Good Luck***
