I've been told I'm having a girl and I have tons of pink girly stuff...but I will occasionally have dreams it's a boy. I'd be happy of course either way, but i must admit that would floor me!

Most of the time they are right, but once in a while they are wrong.
Remember an ultrasound is not a genetic test -- they are not looking at the chromosomes, just the genitals.
Sometimes the labia can look like testicles, sometimes the clitoris can be enlarged enough to look like a penis. Or the other was around. Sometimes it can be hard to tell.
So most likely it's a girl, but I would just keep it in the back of your mind that it's not 100%.

There is always a possibility of the baby being a boy if they say it is a girl. I've never heard of a case where the reverse is true. Don't worry about your dreams. I also had constant, vivid dreams that my baby was a boy -- to the point where I out and out told the ultrasound tech that she was wrong when she said I was having a girl. I had a girl. My advice? Keep buying pink stuff, but save the receipts on the off chance that the ultrasound is wrong.

tough situation! they were right on about my first 2, we'll see about baby no 3 - what i can tell you is that if they say that it's a boy, it most likely is - my midwife said that she has only seen an ultrasound wrong about a girl.... i'm a true believer in the mom knows deep down - even though the pregnancy dreams can throw you off sometimes!

i was lucky enough to have 2 ultrasounds- one early on and another one a few weeks ago, i made sure that they confirmed the sex! i suggest this for you too, that way you know for sure! :)

because the testicles don't drop until the child is born sometime the doctors think it is a girls ovaries so yes it does happen but the doctor usually can tell most parents can tell by instinct wheather the child is a boy or a girl so the best thing to do is to buy yellow it is a neutral color or you can buy blue because it can work on girls too or go shopping after the baby is born there is always questions when your having a baby but the best part about becoming a parent is the surprizes that you will encounter

I had four ultrasounds due to complications with the pregnancy of my second child and was told it was a boy all four times. Imagine my surprise when I asked the nurse while in recovery after c-section birth how much my son weighed and he informs me my DAUGHTER weighted 7 and 1/2 pounds.
I argued with him until he rolled my bed down to the nursery for me to see for myself I did indeed have a daughter. I had bought everything for a boy, but was ecstatic that I had given birth to a girl.

The ultrasounds I've had all were right when it came to gender. However, I know of someone who was told by the technician that she was having a boy, she sent her u/s pics to a few people, including me, and all of them also said boy...I was the only one who said girl..and when she finally gave birth, she was shocked to see she had a baby girl instead of the boy she was expecting...lol..Do you have a pic of the gender, I can take a look, lol

The dream could just be your desire to have a boy, or it could even be fear that you have all this girly stsuff that will have gone to waste. With technology now, it would be hard to make a listake. 25 years ago when I was born my mom's ultrasound came out as siamese twins joined at the chest with one heart. Turns out they were wrong.

Unfortunately ultrasounds are not always 100% accurate. My best friend was told that her second child was going to be a boy. Instead she had a beautiful baby girl.

The most bizarre case was my friend who's mom was told she was having twin girls. Instead she had a 12lb baby boy, How the doctors missed this one is beyond me.

Congrats on you pregnancy. My sister in law was told that she's having a boy, but she gave birth to a cute little girl 6 years ago. But this is very rare, they get it right most of the time. Good luck with you pregnancy
