see, i went without a job for a grand total of 9 months once.
and i used up some of my savings doing it, but at the same time i also went on vacations.
i figured i owed myself u know because prior to that i never took a vacation or hardly had a day off for 4 years of continuos non stop work. and in the end, i used these 9 months to help me get a job in new york where i am now. i come from a third world country where people of my race are persecuted. so, being jobless for 9 months is ok right?

If you want to take time off from your job... travel etc.. that is your choice... if you are using your own money and not the systems ( welfare... aid from the goverment etc) .... if it is what you want to do.. did... and now you are again employed.... then there is nothing wrong.. there is something wrong with ppl that quit their jobs because they don't want to work and are lazy jacka**'s ....

Nice to have saved up enough to take vacations instead of looking for another job. I have never been unemployed since the day I went to work at my first job at age of 15, and going to school at same time. Being jobless for 9 months is okay, if you can afford it, apparently you could. Guess you do not have a family to support.

right now I haven't had a job for about 2 months. But it is my choice, and my husband is supporting me. And I'm in school. I don't know what your race has to do with anything. 9 months seems to be very long to go without a job, if you need one. but if you can survive, then go for it.

As long as you payed your bills and took care of things financially. My longest period of unemployment was 6 weeks and I was so bored. It was horrible. I didn't go on any vacations though. That would definitely have been more fun than just sitting at home.

as long as you can afford not to work, then enjoy your freedom. just make sure you are able to land work when you need it.

i am constantly in and out of work.. contract here, contract there, temp assignment here, back to school for a bit..

employers may get concerned when they see a resume full of gaps and full of short term assignments.. make sure your cover letter is able to address these issues so they will be at ease and still be willing to interview you..
