The answer is "A" but it goes much deeper than that. The loudest opposition were the robbers barons and the wealthiest people in the country. They were afraid of the "re-distribution of wealth" and expected a 'slippery slope' if government began inserting itself into the lives of ordinary Americans. They also expected that it was the gateway into Big Government and they feared they would lose their money and power. Good Luck...
