both salt and iodine are soluble in water hence you can not use any of the technique that have been suggested to you so far.
Unlike salt and sand, iodine upon heating sublimes. So you can heat the mixture and sublime iodine and condense iodine vapors using a sublimation apparatus. Now you can use water to separate salt and sand. Salt will dissolve in water and will leave sand behind. Then evaporate water from salt solution to get salt.

I'm suggesting 2 methods:
1.Sublimation is a possible method.
Heat the mixture and iodine sublimes out.
Collect the iodine vapors and cool....get iodine.
Add water, salt (NaCl) dissolves.
The residue is sand.
Evaporate the water...u get salt
2.Add Chloroform( CHCl3)/ or Carbon Tetrachloride (CCl4) to the mixture ,iodine dissolves.
Evaporate Chloform or Carbon Tetrachloride by slow heating or just keep it as it is ,it evaporates ...u get iodine ....be careful with chloroform(inflammable).
Residue contains salt and sand.
Separate as mentionedabove(by using water)

Dissolve the salt, filter from the sand and evaporate the water.
Using chloroform is very dangerous, especially around a heat source.

I assume by iodine you mean solid pure iodine at room temperature, and by salt you mean NaCl.
First you can throw your sample in water (NaCl will dissolve). Filter the water-salt solution and let the water evaporate to obtain salt. You are left with sand and iodine. The melting temperature of iodine is around 115 C, so you can heat sand-iodine mixture to that temperature until iodine liquifies. Then you can separate iodine from sand using some form of filtration.

salt and ioine will mix with the water, just decant it oof and leave the sand behind
then add alcohol to the mixture and shake it up reall good and the iodine should seperate out into the alcohol, decant this off and then evaporate off the water and the alcohol and you should have seperated out the iodine as crystals and the salt from the alcohol & water respectively and you already had the sand seperated.

first heat the mixture in a closed container.iodine will sublime and will get cooled on the sides of the container and can be collected from there. then we are left with mixture of salt and sand. add water to it. salt will dissolve and then filter the solution. sand will be left as residue on filter paper. evaporate the solution of salt and water and you will get salt.
