Does anyone know where i can find a math program that will plot a graph on an x-y plane but then allow me to rotate that 2D graph along either the x or y axis to create a 3D figure?

I need this for a calculas project in which we are finding volumes.
I would also find it helpful if you could give me a brief explanation as to how to rotate the 2D graph along the x/y axis.

Your help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Mathematica; it does just as you require. Many colleges have student versions that you can download. I bought mine on EBay for a song. I use it all the time for just the stuff you are talking about. Its capabilities surpass even my imagination.

I agree with one of the previous answers. Mathematica is really what you need.

I think that Geometer's Sketchpad may have some additional toolkits which allow for area under a curve. You might want to look into that one as well.
