flash drive, thumb drive, flash disk/c, usb drive is a small storage device that using USB port to connect to the computer. It's called thumb drive because it's small (about a thumb size), of course some of it can be smaller/larger :p
so-called flash drive/flash disk because it's using a NAND Flash as its storage media, not magnetic disc nor optical disc.
some people called it usb drive because it's using the USB port.
so basically it's a really handy small storage device that replace the floppy disk, Zip Disk, and maybe even CD (for temporary file storage).You just plug it and use it...no trays, no cables, no drivers (except for those who are still using windows 98), so simple! ;)

It's a small USB device used to store information, much like a floppy disk, though it holds much more than a floppy. They are referred to as flash drives, pen drives, thumb drives, and few hundred other names....
You plug it into the USB port on your computer and it becomes a drive on which you can save your documents, pictures, etc to then take to another computer to work with those same files (as I mentioned, much like a floppy was used for...).

it is a little thing that you plug into a usb drive and it adds storage space (usually around 1GB) to free space, as long as the drive is connected
