You have to first download the CD it comes with. You have to put the serial # in the computer after you finish downloading the CD. This so your computer can read and transfer music to your iPod. Once all that is done you can start downloding your favorite CDs to your computer and than transfer them to your iPod. It is very easy to do.

Instructions:
1. you must download I-tunes from apple.com
2. Click on I-tunes Store
3. Click on power search
4. fill in the info on the top
5. Click buy song
6. hook your i-pod up to the computer (for old shuffle: just take bottom off) You would need a newer computer not one from 20 years ago.
7. name your ipod selection.
8. there will be something call library, click on Music
9. drag songs in album to your ipod name.
10. click eject (circle with eject button next to ipod name)

If you are referring to free music than you can go to the FREE ON I-tunes box or limewire. otherwise it is illegal

By using a program called Itunes that you download from apple.com.[songs cost 99cent each]

Allso by other company's like walmart music store, napster, rhaposody.[all 99cent a song exept napster i belive]

And you can use file sharing programs, a popular one called limewire. [this is free]
