Get the Chilton manual for 1999 Toyota Corolla. These manuals are usually very easy to follow.

you have to tae the trim peice off the side u are replacing and unbolt it its a 10 mm and unplug the wire behid the mirror then to replace it just do the oppiset any questions feel free to im me or email me i hope this helped you out ad have a happy new year
