When I was younger I always used to peel of the middle of my upper lip (you know the center of the upper lip) Now it grows back, but the skin is very dry, so dry that if I wash it off it comes off, this always happens, and I want that part of my upper lip to finally recuperate 100%. What should I do?

unfortunately i do not have an answer to your question but it is something that i have wondered about myself. the reason being is that my 36 year old son has dealt with this for as long as i can remember. he still today will peel off the dead skin leaving it raw and sometimes bleeding after. i know there is a name for this condition and that is why i googled it and came up with this site. i guess i should tell him to try some of the answers that were given. that is if he even cares. i know it drives his wife crazy when he peels off the skin and it bleeds. hope you get some relief by trying some of the treatments that were suggested to you

You may need to use lip balm to keep your lips moist all the time until you get this condition under control. Just leave it alone if it starts falling off, it's probably a build up of dead skin.

It may be an infection, like you cut yourself. If not, it's probably an allergy because alot of allergies start to occur during the summer. Get it checked out by a doctor, before it gets too big!!

Before you go to bed every night, apply a thick layer of vaseline to that spot, and apply chap stick regularly throughout the day.

You can use plain old vaseline while you sleep at night and lip balm during the day. That should do it.
