Tough question to answer, but here is a similar question. How many people can your your car hold?

My car has seatbelts for 5 but with my mother-in-law, only my wife and I can sit up front. She takes up the whole back seat.

Songs are different sizes too. Some are HUGE and some are tiny. Depending on the file type (MP3 or MP4) they could be tiny or HUGE.

Generally most songs that I have are between 4 and 5 mb, which means that a 1 gig will hold about 200-300 songs.

It depends but mine holds up to 250 songs but if I do sermons then it only will hold about 150-200. It depends also about how many minutes but ussually you can depend on it holding 200 songs easy.

Depends on the endcoding of the songs. songs encoded with MP3 at 128 is usually 3.5 Mb, so that would be 285 songs.....

It depends on the compression you are using (mp3, etc) and similarilly how long each track is.

The first source I have included suggestes you can get up to 250mp3's onto 1GB of memory.

Hope that helps
