but while I was using it before, I think I may have turned it on stand-by. I am not sure what I did but when I went to turn it back on, the only thing that happens is the small little light shaped like a lightning bolt at the bottom (assuming this is the battery light but not sure) comes on. This isn't my laptop so I am not sure what to do with it. Anyone have any ideas?

Hold the power button for at least 1 minute and see what happens.

If that does not work, take out the battery and put it back in, without being plugged into the wall. See what happens.

If that does not work, take out the battery, leave it out, plug it into the wall and try to turn it on. See what happens.

If nothing helps, Dude, you are out of luck.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

well if that is your probelom then it could be the mother board
