Ri: It sounds like you are equating the question to, if a cheeseburger would keep you alive would you eat it? Is that what you're saying?

One question Einstein. How could anyone eat a LIVE embryo? It would require removing it from the mother first, at which point it would be dead.
Other than that i will play your silly game to make you happy. Yeah, i would smear BBQ sauce all over the squirming little boogers and chow down.
Happy now?

Yes

I think this is a very good way to ask this question. It basically puts the question in terms of, "Is this OK to do or not?"

Well, if I had to make a yes or no decision, I would choose yes. But as most questions are in reality (but religious people do not like) the question is really not so simple or black and white.

I'm a vegetarian, but if you asked me to make a decision of is it OK to eat meat (AKA kill animals) or not, I would have to say it's OK. It does not mean I would do it unless I was in an extreme situation (like starving). It would not be right to just go around killing animals needlessly. It certainly would not be right to cause an entire species to go extinct even if it were to save just one human or two. You have to evaluate the trade-offs of everything.

The "right to life" is not absolute even for you I'm sure... You probably engage in some kink of killing of animals (you may pay someone else to kill your dinner, but it is still the same thing).

Likewise, single cells at conception are NOT the same as a 5 month old fetus, and a fetus is not the same as an adult.

Embryos, do not think or feel enough to even care if they are aborted or not and that must be taken into consideration.

Let me guess, since you've re-phrased this question 5 times...you're anti-stem cell research, and probably anti-choice.

EDIT: If I was going to die, eating a handful of stem cells probably would not come to the top of my list, but then again if I had a serious infection that required penicillin, eating green mold would not come to the top of my list either. However, I live in the 21st century and I believe in modern science. If a clump of discarded cells can ease someone's pain or save a life, I'm all for it. Not all discarded embryos come from abortion.

No, Even if it meant I could live a full life without dying early. The embryo deserves the same chance at life I got. I would have to be a selfish turd, to kill another, to save myself.

I would die first!

However, if 1,000 innocent children were going to die if I didn't eat them, I would pretend to eat them and donate the embryos to good parents who can't have children....

How long do I get to live?

Are we talking moments, days, weeks, years?

Awhile means nothing really.

I'm a vegetarian, so no, but I wouldn't hold a grudge against someone who did need to eat them.
