Did that for a while, and I had allot of fun!
First, the male staff were very supportive. They not only made sure I was always covered, but gave me quite a bit of one on one instruction that to this day i find very useful.
Second, It is a bar. People usually are there to become inebriated. Once that is accomplished, disarming or charming or removal is most always a piece of cake for the sober folk who are not "slow".
Maybe you and some friends could hang at that particular establishment and keep an eye out if you are really concerned.
I hope she has fun!! I did!

I am a 'female door supervisor' as opposed to 'bouncer'. If it was a risky job as people perceive it, I'd NEVER do it. Being friendly is usually the first most important thing to do. Worrying will only make her feel insecure, once she's done the training and got the license she should start with smaller bars and nice clubs to get experience with close attention from working with a small team, then later she can try different places to see the one she feel's happy with. I personally find people ( in the clubs) have more 'respect' if not 'fear' for door supervisors than other security jobs.
Anyone working in public sector is exposed to some sort of danger; Nurses, ambulance crew, transport sects' etc. the good thing is she can even be able to pursue other careers while she's doing it or even have a day job while doing it.

A lot of the better establishments use female door staff as often they can difuse a situation better than a man as generally men are seen as more threatening and can escalate the problem.
I will say that a 19 year old is not ready for that kind of responsibility. Maybe when shes older. Nobody is going to take much notice of a teenager, boy or girl.

to begin with, im not a bouncer, so i dont really know much about that kind of job, but i will say my bit!
this job may be a bit more risky than say a desk job, but i doubt she will be left alone without any support from male bouncers and the owners of the club/bar. as long as she works for people you trust and she can handle herself, she should be fine!
