What type of network, tcp/ip, IPX/SPX, APIPA? Is it a wired or wireless network? What OS on each computers? What is the host OS of the shared folder?

Here are my assumptions.
1. You have a tcp/ip network, wired or wireless, with some sort of router handing out DHCP.
2. The OS's are w2k or above, The host is Windows XP.
3. ALL of the computer participate in the same workgroup name. You do not have different workgroup names for each computer.
4. You want EVERY computer to have full rights to the shared folder.

Okay, fairly simply, you need to change something. Open "My computer" Goto Tool|Folder Options. Choose the "View" tab. Scroll ALL the way down to the bottom and UNCHECK "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)" Don't listen to them. :)

Okay, go to the folder you want to share. Right click on it and select Properties. Select the "Sharing" tab. You must select the "Share this folder" radio button. You can change the name of the folder share if you wish, it will not change the name of the folder. It only changes what others see it as.

Now, near the bottom of the window there is a permissions button. Press it. By default the group "everyone" has only read access to the share. This may be okay for you but I would suggest changing it to "Full Control" Press Ok.

You are not done! In windows workgroup networking, if you want to do some sort of security, you would have to create users and passwords for everyone you want to connect to this folder.

Click the "Security" tab next to the sharing tab. A quick and dirty way to give Everyone access to this folder is to "Add" the group "Everyone" to the list and give them "Full Control" access.

Now keep in mind, anyone who has access to your network has access to this folder.

Now your users can browse your network, browse to your computer, and see this folder.

Run netowrk setup wizard on all computer making sure that file and pritner sharing is enabled, and that the workgroup name is the same for all. (MSHOME is default, or use your own)

Thenr giht click the folder you want sharing, share it in sharing and security, then on the other PC's, my network places, view workgroup computers and choose the PC with the folder. ta da!

EDIT:
Connect them? use a router and ethernet cable and/or wireless.
