Do you mean "paralegals?" If yes, 2 yr degrees are now needed. They do research &, file papers. Help clients fill out forms for worker's comp, social security. Help clients file appeals. Call a few large law offices; I'm sure they would be glad to answer questions re pay, which I imagine would be very good.

I'm sure there's reasonable demand for legal assistants. They do things like data entry, greeting folks, answer phones, etc. More importantly, they do research on cases under a lawyer.
