Assuming Windows XP

1. Open My Computer
2. Right Mouse Click your CD/DVD drive
3. Select Properties
4. Select the AutoPlay tab
5. Select the option "Select an action to perform"
6. Select which option you would like performed, if you want no action, select "Take no action"

Click START, click RUN, type in MSCONFIG, hit enter.

Click the tab marked STARTUP. Uncheck the Autoplay entry. Click Apply. Click Okay.

Restart the computer.

GO to mycomputer
Right click on the CD drive go to properties and select autoplay
then you can either click let me select the option or take no action, do this for all the categories in the window unless you tell it to let you decide, that is for all tasks

I never heard of it,, what is the autoplay alert??? I know this is a question.
