It says on my licence that I'm an organ donor, I don't know how it got there, but I don't mind. I don't think my organs would be very useful to anyone- I had open heart surgey when I was kid and have a patch on it, My lungs aren't that great because I'm a smoker, and I drink so there goes my liver......I gues they could have my eyes (perfect vision)?

I don't have any experience. I can tell you, the medical bills related to an organ donation are usually paid by the recipient of the organ. For those who said it is indicated on your license: that is about donating organs when you die. The question was about donating organs while you are alive. Kidneys and bone marrow are examples.
