You should see the following sources for info on what schools are looking for:

www.collegeboard.com
www.princetonreview.com
US News & World Report college rankings (online; premium for full content)
Fiske Guide to Colleges (latest available edition; book; library/school library)

Each university and college set their own guidelines for admissions. You must really check with each one you are considering then aim for the highest standard (that would ensure that you have the minimum requirement.) Go to their websites and check... in addition to a minimum gpa and SAT, you could need teacher recommendations, autobiography or even an interview with an admissions committee!!

Doing all this still will not guarantee admission, but you'd be on the right track.

Good luck!

It does not all rely on your SAT's and GPA. Typically you want to have a B average or more for the private schools and universities. They also look at what you did outside of school though. Sports, work, volunteering, etc.

A strong GPA (3.5 or higher), high test scores (ACT and SAT), good high school classes (honors, AP, and IB), impressive extra curricular activities, and getting great recognitions (Principal's list, honor society member, Key club member, Presidential scholar). Colleges look at a lot of things when deciding who gets in.... even race!! Best of luck.
