Probably China. It really depends on your definiton of a country though. I mean, the whole world is the same age. And is the "China" of 3000 years ago really the same country as the "China" today?

Mesopotamia is the oldest civilization in the world, later called Persia, now broken up into parts of Iraq and parts of Iran. China is the oldest country in the world although the borders have expanded and contracted from time to time. Africa (the continent) is considered the true home to all mankind but scientists have never been able to pin down a country because the country borders are ever shifting.

The lands have existed since long before countries were invented. There have been civilizations in Mesopotamia since 4000 BCE. If you are looking for countries with recognizable names, try Egypt or maybe India. Of course they have changed forms of government many times during their histories.

Africa is considered by most paleoanthropologists to be the oldest inhabited territory on earth, with the human species originating from the continent. During the middle of the twentieth century, anthropologists discovered many fossils and evidence of human occupation perhaps as early as 7 million years ago. Fossil remains of several species of early apelike humans thought to have evolved into modern man, such as Australopithecus afarensis (radiometrically dated to c. 3.9-3.0 million years BC),[7] Paranthropus boisei (c. 2.3-1.4 million BC)[8] and Homo ergaster (c. 600,000-1.9 million BC) have been discovered.

I agree with the others that China would be a good answer. One might also look at Iraq, which was once known as Mesopotamia, putting it on a par with ancient Egypt.
