Why would you not want to sign it? Here's a secret... If she files for divorce, she doesn't want to be with you, sign it.

I would check your state's laws but many states will allow the divorce to go through without signatures of both parties. Basically it is by default, after so many months and if you never object to it, then there is no reason why it shouldn't go through. I suggest signing the papers because there seems to be no reason not to. She has made up her mind regardless if you want to stay married and it would make it easier for both of you then to have this hanging over both of you.

If your wife files for divorce; and you just ignore it. You better hope you dont have any valuables amongst yourselfs; because if you do NOT show up; she will get whatever she wants. You should get a lawyer; unless you want to get totally SCR*WED. I am not for sure if this will make your divorce final because I do think you still need to have both parties sign it.

I'm not sure if it's the same for everystate, but for a divorce to be finalized, both parties signature has to be on the document within 30 days of finalization. To be sure about this, look it up at your local state online info section.

It would be best if you at least LOOKED at the paperwork, if you don't sign it and it goes to default she get's EVERYTHING except the clothes on your back (I know a case where the woman even got her ex's UNDERWEAR). You might want to look at what is in the papers to cover your own butt...or don't...and take the chance of loosing everything.

No, absolutely not , you own your own hand. But if she has serious grounds for a divorce, & you've been a naughty husband, yes a judge can legally dissolve a marriage w/o your consent - if there was a pre-marrital contract involved , that will possibly throw things in a loop for a while...

Depends on your state. In my state I it would make no difference. In fact she would not even have to know where I was. The divorce would be granted because of irreconcilable differences.
But when she files there is no sense you not signing it. It's all over anyway.

i think the laws are different by state, but most likely with one of you to sign is enough!! If you love her and don't want to loose her, try some counseling!! divorce can be painful, i really wish you the best!!

You don't have to sign it. My sisters husband wouldn't sign but all she had to do was have our dad show up and say that there were irreconcilable differences and they were divorced.
Don't know the legal terms, but you can't MAKE her stay married to you if that's what your asking.
You'd be better off going through with it and fighting for the conditions you can deal with.
