You will need to narrow your focus I believe...
Best Aircraft would include all planes,... I personally would wish that all military aircraft were unnessary,... however...

Best aircraft based on certain categories

Best Passenger Jet: Boeing 747e
*The Airbus will be larger,... but size isnt everything

Best Corporate Jet: The Learjet ranks as the favorite,
but if it were me...I'd want to be inside of a Concord (hopefully one which wont crash though)

Best Bomber: hummm, I'm American... I have to go with the B2, gotta love the stealth *terribly desined though,... they could have made it have an increased payload of at least 5 more tons if they double checked their math

Most Important Bomber: B-29, changed the tide of WW2

now to fighters,

The Su-27 is probably the best single seater that is Foreign made,... however in a test held in Alaska in June of this year the F-22 Raptor defeated the F/A-18s mimicring Su-27s in simulated wargames

*F-14 Tomcats are still the best planes in the air though, it just happens to be a 2-seater.

No. The F-22 is a better fighter, but I would actually prefer a Gulfstream or I saw some beautiful pictures of an A380 on the internet.

Best for what? For my purposes a Maule is probably the best aircraft in the world. It carries quite a bit and can handle short, bumpy runways.

No, I think there are a lot better ones. Like the F-22 or the JSF (even though it isn't in commission).
