Arabella is gorgeous. Sakura is really pretty. Elisabeth is fine, but so popular, and so bland. I really dislike Nicoletta--really any Nicole variant.

Luke is decent, but I really dislike Christian.

Sakura: different. I like it. I looked it up and it means cherry blossom. It's sweet

Elisabeth: very pretty. If not a first name, why not use it for a middle name?

Nicoletta: beautiful.

Arabella: "beautiful lion." very nice

Christian: my favorite boy name.

Luke: I like it. What about Christian Luke? It has a nice ring to it.

The names you picked are really nice. I don't think your kids would be made fun of. I like Elisabeth Sakura, Arabella Elisabeth, or Nicoletta Elisabeth/Sakura. And for the boy's name: Christian Luke.

How about Arabella Sakura. I wouldn't use a japanese first name if you aren't japanese but if you love the meaning it could make a beautiful middle name. For the boy, I would never use Christian as a first name but Luke (or Lukas) Christian sounds nice together.

I really like Elisabeth with an s because it is so much softer. I think that the nicknames Elsie or Elise are beautiful too.

I love the name Nicolette. I am not too fond of the name with a "a" on the end though...

Instead of Arabella why not Anabella? or Anabelle? or Arielle? or Isabella? They are more common and just not as harsh.

I haven't heard of Sakura but if you like it, go for it.

I love the name Luke. It is adorable. I also like Jack and Max.

Christian isn't my style though.

Take Care. SD

Sakura is nice. I like Sukanya. No clue what it means but I think it is Japanese too. I don't care too much for the others, but it's just a thought!

On their own, they are all fine names.

However, I would avoid Nicoletta only because it somehow reminds me of "nicotine". I would also avoid Arabella, again for an unusual reason - it was a name often used for a calf in books I read as a child. I wouldn't use Christian, because it carries its own connotations.

Elisabeth and Luke are good strong names, old and classic. Sakura is different and likely to be considered unusual and interesting.

I like Sakura, Elisabeth, and Nicoletta.
Deffinitely think that using a name because it means something beautiful in another language is not wrong.
I like both Christian and Luke, but I think Christian is used more today - so I would go with Luke.

The first group of names are more creative than the last two names. While I like the first four names, I am not rather fond of the last two.

Something else to consider, the spellings will be difficult for friends and family for some period of time. Our daughter still gets misspelled items all the time - as we chose an non-conventional spelling. So be prepared for that for some time to come.

I love each of these names. =) Very beautiful and unique names!

Here's the thing, don't EVER let someone dictate what you name your child. Name your child from your heart...something YOU love and that means something to YOU. Who cares if "someone" might make fun of it...kids will make fun of ANY name...even the most boring, average names get made fun of! Trust me. So it really doesn't matter what you name them, as long as YOU love it. And you let your kid know how much their name means to you and that they should be PROUD of having such a beautiful name.

My daughter's name is Skylar...we call her Sky...and SO many people had SO many opinions about her name! Anything from, "It's a boys name" to "it's weird" to "you can't name her SKY!"...it's a fairly average name actually, or so I thought...it's not like it's scary-weird. But people have their opinions. And NONE of their opinions fazed me. I named her Skylar, I call her Sky, and I am SO happy that I did! I absolutely love her name and I'll raise her to be proud of WHY I named her that also. =)

Also, as for you loving names of another culture...I think that's beautiful. If Sky had been a boy, she would have been named Kai, which is the hawaiian name for "Ocean". I speak hawaiian (although I am not hawaiian), but my husb. and I both surf and we both love the hawaiian culture. And people gave us hell for THAT name too! But I love it and still plan to use it if I ever have a boy.
