It says that Temari and Kankuro are Gaara's siblings, but I am not sure how that works out, because when they show Gaara when he is younger (the flashbacks) where are they? And why is it just Gaara who is cursed? Can someone explain it to me? Thanks.

Gaara is not really cursed. He has the spirit of the Sand Beast sealed inside of him. His father, the Kazekage, did it so that he would become the Sand Village's ultimate weapon. Gaara was shunned by everyone in his village because of this, and was even distanced from his own family.

Temari and Kankuro are not usually in Gaara's flashbacks, because obviously, the creator of the cartoon did not see the need for them. You know that Temari and Kankuro are Gaara's siblings when Kankuro says to Gaara in the forest of death 'Sometimes you just have to listen to your older brother!' and Gaara replies saying, 'too bad I don't think of him that way.,' Then Temari interjects by saying, 'Please Gaara-sama, calm down, do it for your sister, okay?' so, by this, I think that you can pick up that they are related. Gaara is not cursed, but actually has the Shukaku (one-tailed demon) inside of him, like Naruto, cept he has the nine-tailed demon. So, he is not possesed, he is actually the median between the demon and the real world, so Gaara carries a burden on him, he cannot sleep, (hence the black eyes) or else the Shukaku will take over, destroying everything and such, not to mention take away Gaara's personality. For Temari and Kankuro and Gaara I was under the impression that they are blood related but with different mothers, maybe Temari and Kankuro having the same mom or different mothers still. That's kinda of how I took it when I saw the background on them since they were introduced. If their father was the Sand's Hokage, no reason to think he didn't have more then one wife or different lovers but never married. True they've never actually defined their relationship though.

They are really Gaara's siblings. I guess they are probably scared off Gaara's hidden power when they were small and they dare not to play with him just like other kids. I guess that was why they were not shown in the flashbacks.

Well lets just say it was the same thing as Naruto, It wasn't a curse it was to seal the one tail inside him or something like to put him to sleep forever. Oh and the flashbacks were at the sand village.

they are not in the actual siblings relationship... they are just helping gaara for the fact he cannot fully control his powers...

gaara isn't cursed, his father put a demon in him using a jutsu when he was born.

they were scare of him and they live at differt places and maybe
they decide to just put the demon inside of him because they need it at that time
