if you are still a virgin it is very difficult to insert a tampon for the first time, your hymen would get in the way (its like a wall of tissue) keep trying, you'll get it eventually!

I'm almost 100% certain you don't have any incurable physical abnormality that is making it impossible for you to use tampons. If you are menstruating normally the odds are huge that you are a sexually normal female. Obviously without looking at you I can't take it that last 0.01% but frankly I am not intending to stress over it, and neither should you. Inserting a tampon can be tricky if you aren't used to it.
I suggest, if you haven't done this already, to squat down over a mirror and take a good look at your genitals. It is useful and informative. Use your fingers and find out where your vagina and everything else down there is. Then, use a slimline tampon (these are usually labeled "teen" in the tampon aisle). Generally I find the best way to insert a tampon is while sitting on the toilet, but if you have been trying that, try it while standing with one foot propped on something (like the tub). Take your time, and a little dab of petroleum jelly or KY jelly on the tip may make it less painful to slide it in.
A lot of women have this problem, and if this still doesn't work, talk to your mom. If she can't help you, then go see a doctor, who can reassure you and give you good advice.

I am 32 and can't use tampons. I've tried several types, several times, and have had no success. I talked to my gyn and she said some women just can't use them, also if you have an infection that can make it difficult to insert them. Best thing to do is talk to your Dr he/she might have some suggestions!

some people cant use tampons and you might be one of them. Or your body might not be ready to use a tampon. If you really want to use one then you should talk to a doc.

Put one leg on the toilet seat or the side of the bath...they go in easier in that position. Keep trying.
