2 goldfish were offered to me in a 10 liter bowl. until I get a bigger fishtank do I change the water daily?

Goldfish are messy fish and require frequent water changes to maintain good health. Anything smaller than 10 gallons is way to small for a goldfish. Try to allow at least 10 gallon per fish. I have a outdoor pond with goldfish. All of these fish are 8+ inches A fish that size even in a 10 gallon tank would be way too small and would require constant water changes to keep the water in good condition. For 2 goldfish I would get at least a 20 gallon tank. Anything smaller and you will have problems as they grow and require more space and food. Here are some links you can check out. Yes, you for sure need to change water daily in something so small, no matter how well filtered it is. Goldfish stunt easily so hopefully you can get a bigger tank very soon.

Water changes are not just for appearance. Fish produce waste in the form of ammonia and then bacteria converts it to nitrites, which are still very toxic. More bacteria then converts nitrites to nitrates, which are less toxic but still must be kept low. Nitrates will raise VERY fast in such a small bowl and the only way to remove nitrates is through water change.

Also, anything short of 20 gallons is too small for a single goldfish. Even then you will have problems controlling water quality unless you change water 50-75% every week. That's for fancy goldfish. For Commons, comets, and shubunkens, you need 50 gallons for 1 fish.

i'm very sorry to say this yet... none. Goldfish choose about 50 litres of water each and each, and then 10 litres addition for each extra goldfish. when I were given my first goldfish, i also positioned it in a bowl, and at the same time as human beings instructed me what i'm telling you, i concept "they are basically being over keeping. They cant probably choose that a lot!". yet my goldfish died interior a week. enable me reccomend determining to purchase a 20 litre tank and breeding guppies! you may in fantastic condition about 8 guppies in a 20 litre tank, and they are so colourful and captivating. they have been nicknamed the aquarium-kings, because they reproduce very rapidly. in case your female guppy has been round male guppies, there's a ninety 8 p.c. probability that she will be able to be pregnant. they are plenty more cost-effective then goldfish, and they make as a lot as 80 little ones a time! They dont supply beginning to eggs, they offer beginning to little ones! you may then promote all of your gorgous little ones to the puppy shop and make somewhat bit money besides. that is punctiliously well worth it... believe me! verify out amazon. they have 20 litre tanks on sale for 20 euro... they are extremely low-cost! I recommend what i'm declaring... that is easily worth it.

do you have a filter?? if not, then yes you should as the goldfish will consume all the oxygen in the water. a sign is that the water is cloudy. another sign there is not oxygen is that the fish comes to the surface gasping for air.

I wouldn't change the water everyday, especially since water from the tap has chlorine in it. You should have water from tap sitting for a day or two before replacing the water until you get a filtration system in place.

YES! I remember when I was in college my lab teacher had 2 goldfish and she HAD to change the water everyday. so my advice to you is YES if you don't want them to die.

I guess it depends on how big the fish are and if you have a filtration system. Once a week should be fine, as long as it doesn't get cloudy in the meantime.
