How much were the first ipods, and how many songs can they hold?

The original iPod features a 5 GB hard drive (10 GB option available after March 21, 2002) capable of holding 1000 songs in 160-Kbps MP3 format

The first iPods came out several years ago. At first they cost pretty expensive, probably $400 or so. I think they could hold about 5000 songs. They don't make or sell the original iPods anymore...

they could hold 10,000 songs and they were about $500
