Yes, many girls like the idea of being pregnant. It is an exciting time with the anticipation of a cute baby, and all the attention you get when you are pregnant. In general, people are more patient, kind and want to be helpful when you are pregnant. If only people were always like that...
There are also young women that want to be pregnant because they think having a baby will fulfill their feelings of loneliness, or give them a purpose. I knew girls in high school that seemed to think that way and did not mind when they got pregnant.

Renee, you sound as if you are pretty young since you asked about GIRLS being pregnant? If you were older I think you would have said women. I was pregnant at 16. I would not trade it for anything NOR would I wish it on anyone else. It was very hard. I did not go to my prom or do alot of stuff that my friends did. I got married. When I returned to school after the baby was born I had nothing in common with any of my friends anymore. None could relate to being up half the night with a colicky baby. ...or the excitement of a first smile. etc. I grew up very fast. I think you are wise about the reality of actually HAVING the baby. Babies need attention 24/7 and they demand to come first in your life.

I get what you are saying. I think a lot of girls love the idea of being pregnant. A lot of them like it, because the father at one point says he wants the baby too, but then girls seem to lose that happiness when the father bails out. A lot of guys I know have gotten girls pregnant and chose not to be with them afterwards, because they know they can come back because of the baby, which is sad. You know the who baby mama and baby dad drama. Some people do it to trap someone in their life. But I'm glad everyone doesn't. which is why having a baby should be more satisfying if married. I think from what I've seen people married have happier lives with their babies, because both parents agreed on it and are still together.

The very thought of pregnancy makes me sick. But I saw more than a few girls enjoying the hell out of sitting on their asses being coddled when they got knocked up in high school. Funny how much the world changed for them once they had the kid. Unfortunately the kid is the one suffering as its raised by the grandparents or strangers while the mom works the drive thru and hits the bars.
One girl actually got married and took care of the kid, and they are shouldering the whole responsibility themselves with no handouts and i really admire that. If there were more who actually became mothers instead of just breeders teen mothers wouldn't get such a rep. Its preventable, and not a great idea, but if it happens it should be dealt with responsibly.
Its the ones who expect their lives to go on as before that make me wish everyone was sterile until 30.

yes: i have a friend that is pregnant, I know that she loves being pregnant, I don't think that she realizes that life is only going to be harder once the baby is born. She is 25 and I am worried about what will happen after the baby is born.
Me on the other hand would love to be pregnant, I think the thought of creating a life inside of me is just mind blowing. However, I know that I am not ready, and I will do everything in my power to not get pregnant before i am ready.

I love being pregnant but I also love the baby afterwards. I know what you mean though i have seen girls that just like being pregnant but then ends up abandoning the child. Its a shame too, they are so many people that would make great parents but cant have kids and these girls take advantage of this.

I don't think I agree with this...I mean there are those girls who are with someone who they think they ''love'' and try to get pregnant b/c they think that guy will be with them. But, as for me, I'm 21 and a mom to a 3 month old, and to be completely honest, I hated being pregnant, I felt gross and fat. I cried every single day. It definitely wasn't planned and I was so, and am still so ashamed b/c my bf and I aren't married yet.

I like the idea of having a baby, but hate the idea of being pregnant. I guess it depends on the woman.

I think you are right. It's like being in love with the idea of love and not the person that you are with. I think if young girls knew all the things that actually happen to you when you are pregnant they wouldn't like it as much :-)
