I found rubber trees to be fairly easy to grow, however you must have moisture (humidity) in the air for them or their bottom leaves will fall off. I kept mine on a tray of pebbles & poured water in the tray. I 'rescued' my plant from my mom---was nearly a goner. It had only 3 of it's leaves left on top so I cut it off, dipped the cut end into cigarette ashes to stop the flow of sap, stuck it into a fresh pot of wet soil & wrapped it in plastic until I saw new growth.
Other plants that were easy to grow that didn't like a whole lot of bright light were spider plants, snake plants, boston ferns and impatients.

Yes Rubber tree plants are very easy to grow. I just water it once a week and that's it. The Peace Lilly plant is also easy to grow and it will let you know when it is thirsty because it will wilt but I water it before it wilts. Pony tail palms are nice in the house too.

Rubber tree plants are super easy to grow inside. [Outside, too, in my climate.] They are also easily "cloned", that is, cut off a stem, shove it down in a pot of soil, water as you would your other plants and presto, you've got another rubber tree plant growing!
They are not similar to succulents. They are members of the ficus family [as are fig trees.]
Also easy to grow indoors: peace lily, dumb cane, corn plant,

Rubber trees grow very well in tropical areas. Be careful, they grow to be hugh trees when planted in ground.

Rubber trees are very fast growing and I think they are pretty hardy, and can survive in less than ideal circumstances. They do get huge but you can always trim them back. I like the large shiny leaves they have.
