My friends and I all think that the game The Settlers of Catan is the best. It is not as easy as checkers, but definitely not as hard as chess either. It involves some strategy, but it is a board game nonetheless. It involves rolling the dice and moving your piece around the board in order to collect resources, like wood, ore, and brick. Once you collect enough of these resources, you can build a road, house, or city. These will give you points for each one of these that you own and the person that gets to ten points first wins.

Depends, do you want to Play a game or Roll dice? If you just want to roll dice then Monopoly is for you. If you want to play a game, then the following might be better options:

Carcassonne
Ticket to Ride
Blokus
Settlers of Catan (although it is dice-heavy)

If you want to be with friends and have some laughs, then you'll want to play Apples to Apples. Absolutely best game I've ever played.

But if you just want to roll dice and go around a board, then by all means bore yourself and your family to death with Monopoly.

Chess! It's the ultimate game of thinking, strategy & last but not least, brain power! Plus it exercises the mind! You must able to know all the basic fundamentals, as well as openings, attacks, middle game & how to work the end game!

I'd definitely say Risk. I got it the other day for Christmas, I played it, and it was awesome. But that's just my opinion. I happen to love games that involve tyranny and empires.
