What is so bad about this??(see add'l details for situation)

What is so wrong with a girl that street races?? I do, on top of gymnastics, lacrosse,swimming, and track. It doesn't mean I am not girly, I am just not fake like the cheerleaders. What is so wrong with a girl who street races and can beat any guy?? I have only ever lost to my best friend. Parents would you ever let your kid street race??
Why is it seen as bad??
Sorry about the whole cheerleaders thing, but all the ones I know are. Also: I am not doing this to brag.

The whole illegal part just adds to the adreneline(spelling?) rush. I can drag race too. What's wrong with following the hobby you want??

My parents bought all four of my cars. I just had to pay to enhance them. Does it mean they approve??

I don't think the fact that you are female has much to do with the fact that your parents may not be approving of this as a sport. As a parent I would be concerned because it can be very dangerous and it is illegal meaning you can get into a lot of trouble doing it. You may be a great driver but what if something happens to your car or another driver accidently hits you or something? Yes, this can happen any day of the week but when you are driving at high speeds it calls for concern. I think it is great that you are into so many sports and keep really active but taking part in these races can get you into a lot of trouble...think of it this way, when cops show up and everybody has to take off it isn't something you should want to be a part of! Sorry if this is not the answer you were looking for but you asked what parents would think of this situation and this is my opinion.

If this is the type of thing that interests you why don't you look into doing it legally by taking racing lessons or figuring out how to take part in these as they are bigger competitions with prizes, etc. And you can beat people that are well known which could help your adrenaline rush!

You do gymnastics and you want to talk rap about cheerleaders? Really now it was compleetly uncalled for. Anyway, street racing is dangerous and illigal for a reason. Just because you can beat any guy or anyone that you race doesn't mean that you should. Your not only risking your life but your risking anyones life that happens to be driving at the time of your race. Nobody's asking you to be fake, or telling you that your not a girl. You can be a girl and make good decisions at the same time. I sincerely hope that you will discontinue street racing and find something else to do with your time.

I come from a family of racers. My husbands whole family drag races, but we try to keep most of it on the track. I myself street raced before I started having kids. Guys hate getting beat by a female, but when they see who my husband is, they don't want to race me anymore.

I know a lot of females that race, and there is nothing bad about it. You just have to be safe and stay off the streets. That's is the difference from a real racer and a wannabe. Real racers that pack the power take their rides to the track, we know better than to race on the streets. I am 28 and expecting my 3rd child. My 6 yr old daughter will be getting a Jr. dragster when she turns 8, I think it is awesome that she wants to learn to race. But always remember safety first.

I see now that its your parents who are having the problem. Unless you race at the track all the time, you parents will never go for it. If you get pulled over under their insurance, your coverage will get dropped. Just chill out, because they can always take you cars away. If my daughter did something that I wasn't into, I would put a stop to it right away. **My parents didn't understand my racing life, until I took them to the track, to show them that most of the time it is safe**, but street racing was out until I moved out and got my own insurance and the car in my name. Work with your parents, they only want to protect you, I beat when they were your age, they street raced too!!! (my dad did)

You want to know why street/drag racing is bad? I would have you ask my aunt but I can't. She died in a car wreck in 1989 because she was drag racing. She was only 24. She was driving a Mustang at over 120 mph when the transmission blew and caused the car to go slide sideways. She crossed the yellow line and the car went under a gas tanker and the gas tanker blew up. THAT'S WHY STREET/DRAG RACING IS A BAD IDEA.

If you want to enjoy the adrenaline rush, go to track nights.

There is nothing bad about dragging or drifting, just don't do it on public streets.

street racing is illegal and unsafe but i understand where you are coming from you want to follow your interests and hobbies.I am weird in that area.
I can't swim or skate.
But I play soccer,football,basketball, and I skateboard.(not very well skate boarding.)
If you want to do it then do it but be careful cause i don't like people going to the hospital.
