If you burn alot of candles it could be soot from them. But my guess would be that it might just be your furnace. I would buy a carbon monoxide detector and install it in your house just in case it is your furnace. If it registers a high CO reading, then definitely you need to get your furnace checked by a professional. A crack in your heat exchanger could cause black soot in your house. Remember that carbon monoxide is deadly, especially to young children and elderly people.

I know this might sound a little odd but i would get your furnace checked. The exhaust from your furnace will cling to plastic surfaces because of static. in a few more days you might see that it is appearing on the cracks of doorways and such. The exhaust is carbon monoxide and is very dangerous.

Mildew ,Mold. Use a good kitchen cleaner like clorax kitchen cleaner it will get rid of it. clean At least once a week

did anyone have a minor cooking fire in the kitchen??? maybe it's soot. sure hope it's not the carbon monoxide thing going on!!!!
