NO! My mom is a librarian at a school. I don't want my mom to turn into a robot! :) Not to mention the kids love her. And I don't know who this wallyworld or whatever thinks he is but lay off. It's very rude to diminish the quality of someone else's job. My mom means a lot the those kids. There is no way to make a robot as caring as a person. Try giving a hunk of steel a hug. Many of the kids my mom deals with look to her a a trusted ally. When you start taking away people that children can turn to for help or guidance, that's when they get lost.

Yes. Provided they can provide the same retrieval of books and the same recommendations to children that regular librarians do today. If a robot can provide the exact same capabilities that a person does, then I have no problem using a robot to fulfill that particular job.

wow so star trek "ish". sounds like the so lame job of a librarian has been handed over to a computer engineer. woot for the computer programers off to steal more jobs from the avg. moron putting books in alpha order! gratz to another fine win!
