Being I'm not the Dark Lord, I'd have no chance to rule the world as the Ring would lead to my destruction. It is safer for all parties to destroy the Ring.

I would DEFINITELY destroy the ring.
Why allow the possibility of evil to remain in the world? Who cares about power? God will reward us in the end.
But you know, the whole reason Sauron came back was because the Ring is Magical, and it tempts the wearer with power...compare this to the devil tempting us...do we always pick what's right even when we know we should? You would have to be extremely strong in will, like Frodo, to resist the temptation of the One Ring.

Logically I'd want to destroy it knowing what it would do to the world if in the wrong hands (certainly not mine!!). The ring has powers of possessiveness about it when it came time I wouldn't want to destroy it.
I'd like to think I'm smart enough to destroy the thing. If not I'll have to trust my friends to make me do the right thing.

If I came across the ring of power I would be forced to use it to dissapear,as Bilbo Baggins did at his birthday party.After I played my parlor trick I would look for a Hobbit,and hope they would destroy it.Remember as gandolf said It is not for us to decide what time we have left,but we must decide what to do with the time we have left.

It would depend! If I had more enemies than friends and they were all out to get me, I would use it!
If it was going to destroy the world, I would destroy it!

i would try to destroy it.
although that might not be as easy as it sounds. humans don't seem to be able to resist the one ring very well.
