well yeah it shows that there scared of telling them how they feal so instead they say it under there breath it dose tend to get anoying my little sister dose it all the time every day so i totaly understand you 100% and it is disrespectful so as a cuzin talk to them let them tell you how they feal cause if they keep there anger bottled up they will try to kill themselves by blaming every one else for it . also it can also mean that they are doing it to get your attention but no one seems to want to listen to what they say all they do is argu with them so they get mad and hide there fealings .

We talk in front of mom, she is 80 and we will say something while playing cards, she won't be paying attention. We will be teasing her about not being able to cook or something and she will say what did you say, we say "nothing" she knows we said something but no clue what. We like teasing mom and playing cards with her. She doesn't invite us but we come anyhow. Her grandson or I will call and ask what time she is inviting people to play cards. She always says whenever you come. Last Saturday night I called and said 11 o'clock and she responded is that what time you are coming to play cards? She never invites people because she is sure we are much too busy, but doesn't mind if we show up. When I showed up my nephew was taking out her air conditioner to put away for the winter. She saves us chores she can't do.

That's one of the main reasons people lie; they are so afraid how much trouble they'll be in if they tell the truth. But if they had a more out-going relationship with their parents or friends, they wouldn't be as terrified.

Sometimes people say things under their breath to give their "target" the choice of whether to respond or not

maybe "chicken" or maybe smart enough to know that words spoken in anger can be more hurtful than you want them to be.

or you could do it just to make you feel better because you might not necessarily want to hurt their feelings with how you really feel
