i heard of this word alot emo,can anyone tell me what it is plz?

emo is short for emotional. I have a lot of emo friends at my middle school. They dress in black, are depressed, wear really heavy eyeliner, cut themselves a lot, and want to commit suicide. Ya last month I saw my emo friend coming out of the library with book about suicide. Scary. I said why and she said "Life sucks." I tried to talk her out of it, but she likes being emo. Also I've notice that ALL of my emo friends are bi. I love my emo friends b/c since im preppy, they think im weird!! But thats why they love me!!

The latest incarnation of teen counter-culture.
"Oh i am so depressed, no one understands me except my emo friends. Wo is me. I hate life. I love black clothes. Boo hoo."
From the Beatniks to Goth, each generation thinks they are experiencing life as no one else ever has.
Then they either grow up, or become one of those pony-tail sporting, birkenstock-wearing, hacky sack kicking, hemp loving characters that hang out in public places with the rest of their buddies that understand them.

Emo = emotional.
It's a trendy word for kids/people who are like, goth or morbid, they cut themselves, they talk about death and suicide all the time, they're always sad or angry...
It's also a style of music...the whiny, crappy kind.

depends on what you mean.. imos is a very popular pizza place here in the stl but it can also mean a certain type of music in wich bands can sing about heartache and relationships while screaming over a rock band(typically hard rock), without coming off all sappy.
