I wouldn't. You never know what could happen..you could get kicked or fall off a horse. I'm not sure all the bumping around is too great for the baby either. A lot can happen that you don't even think of. I would put it on the back burner till the baby is born. The horses will still be there after the baby comes. Good luck!

I was 30 when I had my daughter. I barrel race and I rode until I was 5 months. I only rode my old faithful completely trustworthy horse. It would be terrible if you were to fall off, I am sure it is not the safest thing to do. My doctor told me it was ok to do anything my body was accustomed to, but stop if it was uncomfortable. so, that is what I did. You also should take into account how healthy you are and how your body feels. Different doctors will tell you different things - some are very conservative. I qualified for the NBHA World and was there when my daughter was 10 weeks old! That was a hoot - boy was I ever top heavy!

i rode until i was 4.5 months...i was thrown through a fence too...my fiance pretty much begged me to stop. thats why i did. just had my baby 2 weeks ago and got back on this past weekend, the greatest ride EVER. i know how it is. ive been riding for 13 years and havent missed a weekend ONCE and then all of a sudden i had to go for MONTHS without riding. i was DYING but think, you can always go groom adn just spend time with the horses. good luck, just consider your baby, i got lucky. flying through fences isnt a good thing to do and probably not a fun ride for the baby.

Yes, it would be a bad idea. I'm sure it has been done in the past, but that kind of movement and impact to the pelvic area is not good for the muscles holding the uterus with the embryo inside.

Not likely. My OB told me when I was 8 weeks I could no longer do things like watersports or ride ATV's b/c the bumpiness wouldn't be good for the baby.
As always, talk to your OB to make sure.

no you should do any sport that risks you falling!!!
swimming is eally the only safe sport you can do as long as you take it easy and not push urself to hard. leave the riding alone but you can still enjoy looking after them

Ask your doctor, I wouldn't think it would be a good idea. Even pros can fall and that much bumping around is probably not good either.
