computer wireless net work please help?

just bought a zyxel adsl 2 + wireless router with a wirless adapter. i have succesfully installed it on my computer. so how can i make my laptop which is alredy wireless. i hope this makes sense any help please will be so much appreciated

When you installed the ZyXel router, did you enable WEP? If so, your laptop needs to have the same WEP key that was entered (or generated) in the router.

Does your laptop see the router? If not, then maybe the router's wireless radio isn't turned on.

If the laptop does see the router, there should be options to connect to it. But again, if WEP or WPA is enabled, you must use the same configuration as entered on the router.

If none of the above help, turn off any encryption you may have turned on for the radio and try to connect. If that works, then you'll know it's something with the encryption setup.

do you have USB antenna for your laptop? try clicking start, then looking for setting up wireless connection.
