How do you play the board/card game Lost Cities?

I received the game "Lost Cities" for Christmas and do not understand the instructions of how to get started, etc. Can someone give me plain instructions?

Hi Tracy,
I have been playing it for the last couple of days and the instuctions are the best way to learn it. Pay close attention to the 2nd page.
