I have a neighbor who is pretty poor and she is expecting a child in May. I would like to put together a diaper bag for her, full of stuff that will come in handy like wipes, some onsies, etc. I've never had a baby so am a little overwhelmed looking at all that is available. Looking for a list of suggestions from someone who knows what a new mom could really use! :)

That is very nice of you. I'm sure she will appreciate it..She will need lots of diapers and wipes. Other things to add could be: diaper rash cream, baby fingernail clippers, a baby thermometer, burp cloths (cloth diapers work well for burp cloths), Johnson's Baby Wash, onesies, socks, those little mittens you put on the baby's hands so they won't scratch themselves..You may also think about putting in a gift card to a grocery store or a restaurant...

Some good ideas would be,
Diapers, wet ones, those little diaper disposal bags for dirty diapers, bibs, burp clothes, formula, bottles, pacifiers, toys, infant Tylenol, gas relief drops, travel size soap, lotion, sun block. Maybe a extra outfit. Changing pad, if the mom is going to nurse nursing pads, blanket.
Just ideas you don't have to get them all of course that is pretty much everything in my bag. Have fun shopping!
