How can you tell if someone is a pedofile?

There is this hispanic guy who just moved next door to my house. He's overly-friendly toward me and my sisters. He is always trying to invite us over his house and asking if he can come over our house when our parents go to work. I used to think he was crazy. He never cuts his grass, but as soon as it starts raining he goes outside and trims his hedges. I think that its an act. He always tells us that he wants friends, but he refuses to have coversation with adults. He only talks to us. He says it's because he feels weird talking to other people. (Our dad is hispanic, but it really makes no difference what our race is. He always talks to us in English) Do yall think he is a pedofile or is he just crazy? And how can I find out?

Goodness I'm afraid I think he is. But what did you parents say about that? Have you ever visited his place with your parents, just to see his reaction and what your parents think about it?
Try that, you'll never know. Some people are weird by nature or how they were raised. Make a surprise visit with your parents and bring some cake etc as if you are just being a good neighbor.
But don't go there with adults until you know for sure about him.

Sounds to me like he is a little creepy. There is no real reason that a legitimate man will only talk to the young ladies of the house and not the parents. Do your folks know that he is trying to have you guys let him in? Honestly, you should tell them just in the event that something horrible happens...at least they would have an idea. Really, you should try to keep your distance from him..as much as possible. You can go onto web sites to see if he is a "registered sex offender" but keep in mind that just because you don't find him on the list...doesn't make him a safe man to be around. You two should really talk to your dad about this.

I would be cautious till you do find out for sure. If he is convicted pedofile it will be posted on the net or you can ask local police becaue a pedofile MUST register every time they move to a new address. If they don't, they can go back to jail in a heartbeat. ALL pedofiles are listed on a website (just cant think of it off hand....any help out here with it??) If he isn't and he makes you uncomfortable, avoid him and tell your parents. He may be one and has never been convicted.

You need to tell your parents about this guy IMMEDIATELY!! It sounds like he definately is a pedofile and you and your sisters could be in danger. You can also check out the megan's law web site and see if he's ever been convicted of a sex crime. Something is terribly wrong with this man and you need to stay as far away from him as possible! Do NOT talk to him anymore!!!

sounds like this guy is up to no good. Never go to his house alone or naything in that sense. I have really bad experiences with men trying to do things to me even as an adult. You need to tell your parents that he invites you over and that you feel uncomfortable with him so they can have a talk with him and tell him something. If my son or daugther told me that someone is trying to get close to them and won't even talk to adults and only children- that would worry me and i would have a serious talk with that person. Other than that- take care of yourself and have your eyes wide open. Us girls have a crazy instinct on men who are trying to hurt us this way so- since you feel weird arond this guy- you should go with your gut and stay away from him- you never know what he might wanna do to you .

theres no way of telling who is and whos not. a close friend of my family got arrested 2 days before xmas last year for being one (met a 13 yr old in a mall to have sex with who turned out to be a cop. yea surprize). he was one of the last ppl id think of when it comes to pedofiles. that man may not be one he just seems lonley and maybe something bad happened to him that makes him weird like that. but still watch out

Sounds like it. but dont just go telling everyone saying he is.( again, sounds like it but you need proof) Tips are dont Go in his house no matter what kind of gimmicks from food, money he is sick if he tries to persuade you like that dont do it (unless you lack any form of itelligence) jk you probaly already knew that. i would type his name up online i know theres some sites you can go to that tell whether or not someones a pedofile. go to your comunity website maybe theres a link to something like that. Wait before you jump to conclusions maybe he does have social anxiety disorder or is just shy.

Don't try to find out on your own. Tell your parents immediately about what's going on and i'm sure they have the best advice for you and they'll know what to do.

I would be very cautious about him.
He wants friends and doesn't talk to adults?...Something seems wrong there.
Never be alone with him (even with your sisters), and tell your sisters the same thing!
And you should probably tell your parents about him, too.

Then, I would honestly just talk to the police. I always trust gut feelings. I know we shouldn't judge people, but I truly believe God gives us the gift of instinct. If you're wrong, you've lost nothing!
